Rentals

Sumner Hall (G. A. R. Post #25, Inc.) is pleased to make its building available for rent to individuals and organizations for a variety of uses. Interested parties should complete a “Building Rental Request Form” for consideration by the Board of Directors. This packet contains information about Rental Rates, Building Use Guidelines and the Building Request form.  A contract of use will be drawn up when Sumner Hall agrees to rent all or part of the building. This contract will detail specific requirements and responsibilities of those renting the building. Sumner Hall is a 501(c)(3) organization.   As a non-profit entity, it does not support, align or endorse any specific religious organization or political party at local, county, state or national level. It does reserve the right to decline any requests that are not consistent with the mission of Sumner Hall.

BASIC RENTAL RATES

Either the entire building or just one floor may be rented. The entire building consists of (1) the ground floor exhibition space; (2) the second floor meeting room / performance space; (3) the restroom; and (4) the kitchen. There is a two-hour minimum rental period. Seating capacity, theater-style, of the second floor is 55. The rental rates do not automatically include the use of audiovisual equipment on either floor; in most cases, these may also be rented or used at a negotiated rate. Please note that the cost includes the use of the space plus the time of a representative of G.A.R. Post 25, Inc. to serve as the host for the event.  The basic rental fee is $25.00 per hour per floor with a two hour minimum.  The ground floor rental includes use of kitchen and restroom.  The second floor rental includes use of that floor and the restroom.

OTHER FEES

Additional fees may be charged for use of audio-visual equipment. Unless an alternative arrangement is negotiated, a deposit of 50% of the rental fee is due with the application. The remainder of the rental fee is due 1 week before the event. Sumner Hall reserves the right to assess additional fees, including a refundable security deposit, depending upon the nature of the event. These fees will be specified in the rental contract.
