The Way We Worked – Sponsorship

HOW TO SPONSOR THE SMITHSONIAN’S MUSEUM ON MAIN STREET EXHIBITION AT SUMNER HALL
THE WAY WE WORKED IN AMERICA AND KENT COUNTY, MARYLAND

Last spring, Maryland Humanities named Sumner Hall as one of five places in Maryland to host this Smithsonian traveling exhibition.  The other locations are the Western Maryland Heritage Association in Cumberland, the Carroll County Farm Museum in Westminster, the Salisbury  University Art Galleries and the Brunswick Heritage Museum. Eight other communities in South Carolina and Utah are also hosting The Way We Worked.

The Smithsonian exhibition will be installed on the second floor of Sumner Hall. The ground floor of the hall will feature locally developed exhibits featuring stories of The Black Labor Experience in Kent County. The rich heritage of our community will be illustrated through the contributions of free and enslaved labor, stories of the founders of G.A.R. Post #25 and soldiers who served in the Civil War, and contemporary oral histories. Visitors will also enjoy a display of antique tools and the Kids Corner.

Please help us make The Way We Worked a big success in our community. And let us recognize your support as a Sponsor, Patron, or Friend of this exciting exhibit. Call us at 443 282 0023 or email info@sumnerhall.org for more information on sponsorship opportunities.
